Fixed or variable rates?
If you're not on one of our energy plans, you're on out of contract rates. This means your business energy rate is variable and may change whenever the market changes.
Customers can get better price certainty by renewing or signing up to a fixed-rate contract. Quotes are available here: Get a quote for a fixed term energy contract
Variable business rates
You'll pay variable business rates (VBR) for your electricity or gas if you haven’t agreed a contract with us. This includes:
- where you’ve moved into premises supplied by us and have yet to agree a new contract with us, or another supplier.
- if your fixed term contract comes to an end and you haven’t agreed a new contract.
- if you live in a domestic household (premises not owned by a commercial entity) and your fixed term contract has expired and you haven’t found an alternative supplier.
Until you agree a contract with us or change supplier, VBR will apply. VBR are also known as ‘out of contract rates’ or ‘deemed rates’.
More cost-effective options may be available by entering a fixed-term contract. You can get a quote for a fixed term energy contract now
VBR terms and conditions
All VBR are subject to our deemed terms and conditions.
If you choose to change suppliers, there’s no need to give us notice. VBR will apply until the new supplier takes over.
