Your online account

If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it here and select 'forgot password'. Enter your email address, and we’ll send you a verification code to set up a new one.

Alternatively, you can change your password in Manage My Account (MMA) by opening the settings menu in the top right corner and selecting "Change password".

To change your email address, go to the settings menu in the top right corner of your account dashboard and select "Change email address". You'll then be guided through a quick online process to verify and update your new email address.

If you're a TPI or Managing Agent, please email our Admin Team or call us on 0345 0729570 to change your email address.

To update your name, go to the settings menu in the top right corner of your account dashboard and select "Edit user profile". You can change your first and last name, then select "Continue" to save your changes.

To update your phone number, select "Change phone number" from the same settings menu and follow the prompts to verify and save your new number.

We usually review and process registrations within three working days. If you haven’t received your activation email after this time, please fill out our Online portal form and our team will get back to you.

To check your account balance, log in to Manage My Account (MMA) and go to the Invoices & Payments section. Select your account for your "Current balance" and "Payment status" to be displayed at the top of the invoice card.

Steps

1. Log in to Manage My Account
2. Navigate to the Invoices and Payments page
3. On the invoice card, click Show transactions
4. The accordion will expand to display:

• Date of transaction
• Type (Invoice, Credit Note, Payment)
• Amount

To download the transaction history:

• Click Download to save a CSV file.
• The file will include:
• Invoice Structure Identifier
• Date
• Type
• Payment method
• Amount

You can find your invoice structure ID (or account number) in the Invoices & Payments section of your online account.

Log in to Manage My Account (MMA) and go to the Invoices & Payments section. Open any invoice, and your Invoice Structure ID (shown as "Ist") will be displayed at the top of the invoice card.

It can take up to two working days for your payment to be processed and updated on your online account.

Please check again after 48 hours. If you still can't see your bill, please speak to our team using our Contact Us Form and selecting "SME Billing Query", or call us on 03457 252526 (option 1) with your account details to hand.

You can download copies of your invoices via your Online account. Navigate to the Invoices & Payments section and find the Invoice Structure Identifier (Ist) for the invoices you wish to download.

Select "Show Invoices" at the bottom right of the invoice card to view all invoices for the account.

To download your invoices, tick the box next to the invoice(s) you want and click the "Download" button.

If a change of circumstances, such as a change of address, means you don't receive an invoice, please update us with your new details either by our Contact Form here or by calling 03457 252526.

The simplest way to pay your invoices is by Direct Debit. This includes a discount (0.5p/kWh for electricity or 0.1p/kWh for gas) against our standard unit rate.

To set up a Direct Debit, please complete our Direct Debit mandate and email to DDmandate@sse.com.

An invoice based on an estimated meter reading is issued when we didn't receive a meter reading for that invoice period. We send out reminders near the end of your billing cycle to help you avoid future estimated invoices.

You can sign up for a smart meter here. This will automatically provide us with your up-to-date readings, helping you avoid estimated billing.

There are a number of different types of energy meter. These range from clock dial meters to smart meters. Most digital meters have a button on the front which you can press to work through the different options.

If, at any point, you are unsure about a meter reading, make a note of the meter serial number shown on the front of the meter, call us on 03457 252526 and we'll try to help. You can also take photographs of your meter and email them to sme.service.helpdesk@sse.com.

You can upload more than one meter readings at once. Simply log in to your Online account and go to the Bulk meter readings section.

Select the accounts you want to submit readings for and click "Download .CSV template" to download the file. Fill in the meter Reading date in column G (format: DD/MM/YYYY) and the Meter read in column H, then save the file.

Upload the completed CSV file, and we'll flag any issues that need your attention so you can review and amend before clicking "Submit readings".

You’ll see a confirmation message once submitted, and readings should appear in your account within 5 working days.

If you send us a meter reading that indicates you've used a lot more or less energy than the estimated reading shows, we'll send you a replacement or unscheduled invoice that adjusts to your actual meter reading. The invoice will vary, depending on when you sent your reading and how much energy you have used.

You can request a smart meter here. Once requested, we'll be in touch to guide you through the installation process and get you set up.

There’s no additional cost for a standard smart meter installation, and ongoing maintenance costs are covered in the same way as with your present meter(s).

Occasionally, additional work may be required to ensure your energy supply is in a safe condition for a smart meter to be installed. This may be subject to additional charges.

You can view your consumption data when you log in to your Online account. Go to the Invoice Reports section and choose your report type (Invoice Summary, Consumption, Full Detail).

To run the report:

1. Use the Refine Selection dropdown to choose or search the account you want to view, and select your date range.
2. Your report will generate on screen.
3. To see your data insights, select "Overview" for a visual graph, or "View Data" to see it in a table.
4. To download it, select View Data and hover over the table. Click the three dots at the top right corner of the table and choose Export Data to download it as a CSV file.
