Meet our SSE Energy Solutions experts

SSE Energy Solutions team at the 2021 ELCC TELCA event.

As proud sponsors of the 2021 Energy Live Consultancy Conference, I wanted to reflect on this year’s conference and offer my congratulations again to the TELCA award winners.

After last year’s virtual event, it was great to be back together in person and it made all the difference when it came to the content sessions and headline speakers. Everyone in the room was eager to share knowledge and celebrate the successes of their peers in the energy industry.

Ofgem’s Chief Executive Jonathan Brearley talked about the challenging situation around gas prices and rising inflation and how it will continue to affect consumers and businesses in the months ahead. However, despite the warnings of challenging times ahead, there was still a feeling of cautious optimism for the future.

If one thing was clear from conversations at ELCC, it’s that we as energy suppliers have to work together in collaboration with TPIs to make net zero accessible to businesses of all sizes. And while the challenges of the daily churn take up the near-term horizon, especially with so many exits from the market, we must focus on the future. These thoughts were reflected in my TELCA presentation speech where I spoke about us all working together to achieve net zero and keep 1.5 degrees a reality.

ELCC 2021 sessions

If you couldn’t make the ELCC event in person, don’t worry. You can catch all of the content sessions on the Energy Live News website.

Here are the SSE Energy Solutions talks from the 2021 ELCC. I would recommend listening to both presentations if you have time because they bring together where we could be in five years’ time with the options customers have available now to put them on the right path to net zero.

The road ahead post-COP26

Moments after their win, Utility Team’s Chief Executive Delvin Lane thanked the Utility Team for all their hard work in going above and beyond to achieve their net zero strategy.

All in all, it was a fantastic day meeting TPIs that we’ve worked with for many years back in the flesh after what has felt like a long two years of remote working. We’re looking forward to working with our partners in the years to come.
