We’re making an update to our billing system to improve your cancel/rebill experience. You’ll benefit from simpler, more accurate billing and less paperwork.

Who’s affected?

This mainly affects customers without smart or AMR meters, particularly accounts with few actual reads.

What’s changing?

Currently, our system produces invoices based on actual or estimated meter readings. When we receive an actual reading, it revises previous estimates to align with the last actual reading.

This was intended to make our estimates as accurate as possible, but led to some customers receiving numerous credit and rebill invoices.

In future, our system will only rebill if an actual reading is lower than a previous estimate, no longer triggering ‘corrections’. This will reduce the invoices you receive following actual readings.

What happens next?

When we update your account, you may receive a large number of correction invoices at first. If you use electronic billing, the file you receive will reflect this initial increase. Once the update is complete, you’ll see a significant reduction in correction invoices.
